As Above, So Below

•A Reflection of Ancient Teachings•

As Above, So Below (2019) is the first series of works presented in the Master of Photography program. The work reflects on the seven Hermetic Principles; Mentalism, Correspondence, Vibration, Polarity, Rhythm, Cause and Effect, and Gender. It responds to world mythologies that deify the natural phenomena found in the natural world, and the totemic ancestral beings believed to harness protection over Indigenous populations. Turtle and Serpent are a response to the Australian Indigenous Dreaming, Sentient and Hide a response to the teachings of the Popol Vuh from the Mayans of the Guatemalan highlands.

As Above, So Below is a return to the ancient teachings that must be retained, reheard, and retaught for generations to come in order to ensure a sustainable and clean existence for the future health of the Earth and its inhabitants.
